Time for Freedom: Iran, Economy, Health

In this interview, EPHI representative Adam Schlüssler speaks with Lukas Mandl inside the European Parliament.

Mandl, one of the few Members of the European Parliament sanctioned by the regime in Iran since 2023, shares his perspective on the current situation in Iran, the growing pressure on the ruling regime, and why he believes the movement for freedom inside the country is stronger than ever. The conversation explores whether the world could soon face a post-Mullah Iran and what role Europe should play if political change happens.

Mandl explains why supporting the Iranian people matters not only for the Middle East but also for Europe’s security and global stability. The interview also dives into Europe’s economic future, including deregulation, competitiveness, and how the European Union should respond to shifting global trade dynamics and U.S. tariff policies. In addition, Mandl reflects on Europe’s healthcare systems, the importance of prevention in public health, and why Europe remains one of the best places in the world to live.
